Taylar Belanger is a nehiyaw/metis iskwew from Sakitawak, Sask., also known as Île-à-la-Crosse. Taylar works with plant medicine and continues to educate herself with online learning as well as with Elders and Knowledge Keepers across the country. She also practices traditional healing methods which includes energy work (reiki level 2), traditional hand poke tattooing and through ceremony. She loves sharing her knowledge of plant medicine and the ways of miyo pimatisiwin.

Taylar currently works as the project coordinator for a land-based healing program in her community called The Kiya Project. She advocates for better mental health services specifically designed for Indigenous people, and is striving to build a healing lodge near her community where long-term programming and healing can happen.
