Latest CQIP graduates to present learnings at virtual capstone event on May 27

The graduating class of the fifth Clinical Quality Improvement Program (CQIP) cohort will be showcasing their learnings during a virtual capstone event taking place on May 27 from 8–10:30 am.

This will be the cumulating event for the 12 clinicians taking part in this 10-month program. Each participant will have the opportunity to do a three-minute presentation—called a QIck Talk—on the aim and results of their quality improvement projects, as well as their learnings in the program and their professional development.

Event details:

  • The capstone event will be taking place on May 27 from 8–10:30 am.

CQIP is an applied learning program designed to build leadership in quality improvement work in clinicians. It enables participants to incorporate continuous quality improvement initiatives into their practice. The program delivery is coordinated by the Saskatchewan Health Quality Council (HQC) and is offered through a partnership with the Saskatchewan Health Authority, the Saskatchewan Medical Association and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health.

HQC Manager of Learning Programs Chelsea Schwartz explained the capstone event will be a great opportunity to showcase some of the important quality improvement work that is happening across the province.

“Participants graduate the program as improvement leaders, so it’s our hope to continue building that foundation of continuous improvement within Saskatchewan’s health-care system,” she said. “I always find CQIP’s capstone events to be inspiring and hearing about the graduates’ continuous improvement journey is amazing. This cohort has shown tremendous enthusiasm and tenacity for quality improvement—especially in the context of the pandemic. We look forward to welcoming participants from this cohort back to future cohorts as coaches and faculty members!
