Project: Optimizing bloodwork in babies (OBLOB)
For his CQIP project, Dr. Andrei Harabor looked at trying to optimize blood work in the NICU as it seemed that there was significant variation to other places of practice and even between days and practitioners. The goal of his project was to reduce the number of tests and blood sampling episodes by at least 10% for the total number of tests performed per patient in the NICU without decreasing safety.
